Notre Dame's last recruiting class included some of the nation's top defensive linemen, but that hasn't stopped the Irish from pursuing top junior talent at the position. On Friday, the Irish extended a verbal scholarship offer to Mentor, Ohio junior Tom Strobel, a 6-foot-6, 240-pounder from Mentor High School. Strobel visited South Bend for a game last season.
