Two for one
AUBURN | It's going to be a new day at quarterback, too.
The Tigers' mantra became even more prescient Monday when coach Gus Malzahn said newcomers Nick Marshall and Jeremy Johnson have become the top two options at quarterback. Incumbent starter Jonathan Wallace will continue working at the position while junior Kiehl Frazier instead has elected to focus his efforts on playing safety.
As for the newcomers, they'll spend the next week splitting time equally with the first-team offense. The Tigers will scrimmage Tuesday morning.
"We've seen them both improve each practice," Malzahn said. "Both of them have extremely live arms. They both can run and both of them are athletic. It's just a matter of how quickly they can get acclimated. We're still looking for a couple of different situations to see how they react and see how their teammates react."
