• Coach Steve Sarkisian said that he liked the tempo of practice today. Although mid-week practices during game weeks can be a little slow, Sarkisian liked the physicality of Wednesday's practice.
  
  
• Offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau said that he will be coaching from the box on Saturday night, with Sarkisian down on the sidelines calling plays. Kiseau said that the dry run last week helped the coaching staff figure out each member's roles for the game.
  
  
• With freshmen Jaydon Mickens and Kendyl Taylor listed on the depth chart as starters for Saturday, Kiesau put to rest any questions of whether the coaching staff would try to ease them into game action. "We're hitting the ground running," he said. "We're going to call a game based on what we see. We have a game plan and we are going to stick with it."
  
  
• Kevin Smith has been a full go at practice this week, and Sarkisian said that he is ready to step on the field Saturday. "He looks good, he's making plays, and his experience is important for us at that position," Sarkisian said.
