Bruins Face Courgers in Pullman
The UCLA Bruins (11-13, 6-6) will battle the Washington State Cougers (15-10, 5-8) on Thursday evening at 5:30 at Friel Court in Pullman, Washington. The Bruins are coming off their road loss last Sunday at USC while the Cougers were swept in the Bay Area over the weekend.
In the first game between the two teams, the Bruins prevailed 74-62 in Pauley Pavilion on January 23rd. That was certainly one of UCLA’s best games of the year. The newly installed zone defense was effective and offensively the Bruins were able to get the ball inside with Reeves Nelson scoring 19 points. That win padded the Bruins overall lead in the series with WSU to 96-14.
As both teams come into this game, neither one is playing extremely well. In their loss last Saturday at Cal the Cougs blew an eleven point half time lead, giving up 52 points in the second half. Their loss to Stanford was another heart breaker, 60-58.
