Edmondson has a great visit to State

This weekend Michigan State hosted several players on official visits. One player was 3-star cornerback Jermaine Edmondson of Canton McKinley High School in Ohio. SpartanMag.com was able to catch up with him and get some details on his visit.

Last week Michigan State Head Coach Mark Dantonio and Defensive Coordinator Pat Narduzzi traveled to Canton to see Edmondson in action. In that game, Edmondson had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown in a 49-0 victory over Perry High School.

This weekend Edmondson made the trip to East Lansing with some family for his official visit to Michigna State. We asked him about his time in Spartan Country.

"I had a great time at state! The atmosphere was amazing! I hung out with a lot of the players. They showed me a good time. My dad and uncle came with me. My mom was not able to make it, but she will come with me next time," Edmondson said.

Edmondson spent much of his time hanging out with fellow commitments Mcagarrett Kings Jr., Se'von Pittman and top recruit Adolphus Washington. We asked Edmondson about what he really enjoyed about the visit and if he did any recruiting for the Spartans.

"Hanging out with Will Gholston and Kurtis Drummond was the best part, we went all over campus. I know he (Adolphus Washington) had a good time. Hopefully he decides to be a Spartan."

At 6-foot-1, 175-pound some have thought that Edmondson could project as a safety. The Michigan State coaches however see him as a player similar in style to former Spartan Chris L. Rucker who is now playing for the Indianapolis Colts. SpartanMag.com asked him about his time talking with the coaching staff.

"Meeting the coaches was cool, they told me that they see me playing real early and I'm going to be at corner still. I can't wait to get on the field. I loved the uniforms and the atmosphere was loud."

McKinley is having a good year; they are currently 6-2 on the season with two huge games left. The Bulldogs will play Youngstown Boardman High School (6-2) this weekend and then end the season against Washington Massillon High School (7-1). The game against Washington is one of the premier rivalry contests in the nation.

Edmondson recently received some good news. He was selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Game which will be held in Dallas Texas on December 26th. SpartanMag.com will be sure to have coverage of that event and report on Edmondson's performance.
