The Ohio State coaching staff continues to extend offers to some of the top junior talent in the state of Florida. The latest to receive a verbal offer from the Buckeyes is Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage running back Greg Bryant. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect already has offers from some of the top programs in the nation and the Buckeyes entered the fray last week with an early Christmas present for the talented back.

"It was exciting, they kind of joked with me about (the offer)," laughed Bryant. "I was talking to the running backs coach (Stan Drayton) and he said he had an early Christmas present for me."

Bryant admitted he didn't know too much about Ohio State's program but offered up his thoughts about the Buckeyes and new head coach Urban Meyer.

"I know it's cold (in Columbus)," he joked. "Other than that, I just know that their history is very good. Coach Meyer has coached a lot of good players and he will be good (at Ohio State)."

Bryant has already blown up with 15 offers from some big-time programs. To have that big of an offer list at this early stage has been a humbling experience.

"It's been good," he said. "I just have to stay humble and keep going."

At the moment, it's a powerhouse program from the Big 12 that Bryant gives a slight edge; though he admits there is a long way to go in the process.

"I would probably say Oklahoma," he said. "I'm still just waiting to see how it goes though. Me and the coaches (at Oklahoma) have a good relationship, they run the ball, and a lot of good running backs have come through there."

Another program that has caught Bryant's attention so far has been Florida State.

"They have a great history," he said. "Also it's an in-state school so that's good too, I like it here in Florida."

On the field, Bryant credits his quickness and elusiveness as major reasons for his impressive early offer list. He's also working to become a more complete back.

"I get up the field quick and I can make moves and break tackles," he explained. "I'm trying to get faster and work on my blocking and just become a better runner."
