Mattingly has high praise for Ducks
Spokane (Wash.) Mead tight end Danny Mattingly is one of the top 2013 prospects from the Pacific Northwest and he's got an offer from Oregon. Mattingly has come to know a good bit about Oregon over the course of the recruiting process and he showed praise on the Ducks this weekend.
Mattingly, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end, is a high three-star prospect and is your prototypical pass-catching tight end.
Tight ends have enjoyed a surge in popularity over the past couple of seasons, due in large part to the production of players at the position in the NFL. Now the tight end spot has become more glamorous at every level of football so college coaches are putting more of a premium on quality and depth.
Mattingly has offers from schools up and down the west coast plus Notre Dame, Nebraska and Oklahoma, among others.
