Wazzu Hammers Hornets



The Washington State University Cougar men's hoop team scored the game's first 27 points and never looked back as junior Klay Thompson scored 16 points and Wazzu hammered the Sacramento State Hornets, 84-36 at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman. With the win, Wazzu remains undefeated on the season at 5-0 overall.

Wazzu scored the game's first 27 points the Cougars hit shot after shot and Sacramento State missed shot after shot until the Hornets finally broke through nearly halfway through the first half for their first bucket of the game. With the big margin, Wazzu cruised to a 42-15 halftime lead.

The second half was more of the same as the Cougars substituted liberally and 12 Cougars saw action in the game with 11 Cougars scoring. Wazzu rolled through the second half, never allowing the Hornets any semblance of a comeback attempt.

Joining Thompson in double figures was junior Faisal Aden with 11 points and sophomore Brock Motum with 11 points while junior Marcus Capers and true freshman Patrick Simon led the Cougars with six rebounds.


NOTES

- Sophomore point guard Reggie Moore had his cast removed from his wrist and his probable for the game against Kansas State while DeAngelo Casto - who had a foot sprain injury - will practice this week and is listed as day-to-day.





Washington State University next plays Kansas State at 8PM on Friday, December 3, at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman
