Price overcoming big obstacles this year

After Saturday's win against Utah, Washington's head football coach Steve Sarkisian was happy with the way quarterback Keith Price played and the way he seems to be getting back to his old self.

This season, it's been a speculation that maybe Price wasn't playing like he was last season because of all the roster shake-ups. His confidence seemed to be waning and his trust in teammates and game plans wasn't were it should have been for a starting quarterback.

But finally, it looks like he's taking a turn.

"For him to be able to come to the sidelines and remain the positive Keith," Sarkisian said, "I thought was really cool for him and it's been a process for him."

Sarkisian said he had to remind himself of everything that's changed around Price since last season and even the start of this one.

He went on to list out all of the changes, and here they are again, so everyone can be reminded:

Left tackle from a year ago - gone.

Starting tailback from last year - in the NFL.

Two star receivers from last season - in the NFL.

Four other offensive linemen - hurt.

Two other running backs - injuries.

Other starting receiver - hurt.

"He got in the huddle and there were a lot of new faces for that guy," Sarkisian said.

That's a lot of change in the span of one season. But instead of using that as an excuse, Price has always shifted the blame to himself.

With the offensive line starting to play better, tailback Bishop Sankey running really strong and Price starting to trust wide receiver Kasen Williams and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins to make the big plays, this Husky offense might just take a turn for the better to close out the season.
