Austin NUC top performers

AUSTIN, Texas - A solid group of freshmen and sophomores from all over the state of Texas traveled to the Round Rock Athletic Complex recently to show their skills at the National Underclassmen Combine.

Here is a look at some of the top performers from the combine.

Reshard Asmore, LB, Round Rock (Texas) Stony Point
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Asmore turned heads en route to winning the DL MVP. The 5-foot-9.5, 194-pound powerhouse had a 32-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'1 broad jump, ran a 4.52 40 and bench pressed 185 pounds 22 times. Asmore is a player to keep an eye on.
Chandler Cannon, OL, Palestine (Texas) Westwood
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Cannon was definitely fired up coming into the combine and was named OL MVP. The 6-1, 222-pounder did well in one-on-one drills and bench pressed 185 pounds 15 times.
Princeton Collins, RB, Round Rock (Texas) Westwood
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Collins (5-11/183) was the winner of the RB MVP as well as the leadership award. In addition to displaying a great attitude, Collins had a 33-inch jump-stand vertical and 9'1 broad jump while running a 4.37 shuttle and 4.44 40. Collins is definitely a coach's dream as he has a great attitude to match his top-notch athletic abilities.
Brandon Dornak, OL, Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Dornak (6-3/218) was the winner of the OL MVP. Dornak had a 29.5-inch jump-stand vertical and excelled in one-on-one drills. This is a lineman any QB would love to have.
David Durham, LB, Austin (Texas) Westlake
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Durham was the winner of the LB MVP. The 6-2.5, 226-pound Durham excelled in one-on-one drills and bench pressed 155 pounds 29 times.
Ellis Glaw, LB, Austin (TX) Westlake
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Glaw took home the LB MVP. The 5-11, 187-pounder had an 8'8 broad jump, ran a 4.49 shuttle and bench pressed 155 pounds 18 times.
Aaron Green, RB, Dallas (Texas) James Madison
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Green was named the freshman MVP. The 5-11, 174-pounder had a 32.5-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'9 broad jump, ran a 4.23 shuttle and a 4.40 40. Green showed flashes of pro potential at the combine.
Devon Hocutt, LB, Killeen (Texas) Ellison
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Hocutt (5-11/234) was crowned freshman combine king after posting dazzling numbers on the football field. Hocutt had a 30-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'4 broad jump, ran a 4.45 shuttle and bench pressed 135 pounds 31 times. The most impressive thing about Hocutt is that he is just a freshman and figures to only get better.
Michael Jackson, RB, Frisco (Texas) Wakeland
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Jackson won the overall MVP and fastest man award. The 5-8, 168-pound Jackson had a 34.5-inch jump-stand vertical, 10' broad jump and ran phenomenal times of 4.44 in the shuttle and 4.36 in the 40.
Kurt Killens, LB, Round Rock (Texas) McNeil
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Killens (6-2.5/198) was on top of his game as he was named sophomore combine king. He had a 32-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'2 broad jump, posted an excellent time of 4.30 in the shuttle and bench pressed 155 pounds 29 times.
Dylan Klare, LB, Refugio, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Klare (6-2.5/234) was the winner of the combine's strongest man award. He bench pressed 185 pounds 31 times and also showed great athleticism as he had a 31-inch jump-stand vertical, 8'7 broad jump and ran a 4.63 shuttle.
Sheldon McClain, WR, Cibolo (Texas) Steele
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: McClain (6-2.5/174) was crowned sophomore combine king after an impressive day on the field. McClain had a 9'7 broad jump, ran a 4.48 40 and impressed coaches in one-on-one drills.
Jeremy McKnight, S, Round Rock, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: McKnight showed flashes of big-time talent and was named DB MVP. The 5'9 168 lb prospect had a 33-inch jump-stand vertical, ran a 4.43 shuttle, 4.46 40 and bench pressed 155 pounds 24 times.
Trey Metoyer, WR, Whitehouse, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Metoyer was the winner of the WR MVP. The 6-1.5, 177-pound Metoyer did well in one-on-one drills, ran a 4.50 shuttle and had an 8'6 broad jump.
Michael O'Guin, DL, Van Vleck, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: O'Guin was the winner of the DL MVP as well as the strongest man award. The 6-1, 322-pound monster bench pressed 185 pounds 26 times and did a great job in one-on-one drills.
Jabari Prewitt, S, Hutto, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Prewitt (5-8/158) was the winner of the freshman MVP. Prewitt had a 31.5-inch jump-stand vertical, 8'10 broad jump and ran a 4.44 shuttle as well as a 4.60 40.
Joe Sanders, WR, Rockdale, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Sanders (6-1/175) was the winner of the WR MVP. Sanders had a 9'0 broad jump and ran a 4.54 shuttle.
Josh Schneider, QB, LaGrange, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Schneider (5-11.5/201) was the winner of the leadership award. Schneider had the type of attitude any winning QB needs and also displayed quick feet as he ran a 4.48 shuttle.
Jameill Showers, QB, Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Showers (6-1/169) was posted some impressive statistics at the combine and was named QB MVP. Showers had a 33-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'3 broad jump and ran a 4.48 shuttle.
Wayne Taylor, QB, Killeen (Texas) Memorial
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Taylor was the winner of the leadership award. The 5-11, 190-pounder displayed a great attitude on the field as well as impressive athleticism as he had a 9'0 broad jump and ran a 4.39 shuttle.
Steven Williams, RB, Round Rock (Texas) Stony Point
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Williams' was named the MVP as well as the fastest man. Williams (5-8/168) had a 35-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'5 broad jump, ran a speedy 4.38 shuttle and a 4.30 40.
Mason Y'Barbo, OL, Sulphur Springs, Texas
COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Y'Barbo (6-1.5, 310) was the winner of the strongest man award. Y'Barbo bench pressed 185 pounds 22 times and did well in one-on-one drills.
