SEATTLE -- When Jacob Kizer comes up to visit Washington on Saturday for the Huskies' final non-conference game in 2016, it will be for the first time since faxing in his National Letter of Intent.

Kizer, a 6'5, 235-pound tight end from West Salem High School in Salem, Oregon, committed to UW in July 2015 and sat out most of his senior season recovering from back surgery.

UW head coach Chris Petersen and tight ends coach Jordan Paopao elected to grey shirt Kizer in order to give him maximum time to heal before enrolling in January. Since signing in February the former three-star prospect has done just that.

"It's going great," Kizer told Rivals of his recovery. "I'm 100-percent healthy [and] I'll be up there this weekend for an unofficial visit."

With the Huskies hosting three-star Orlando Umana, an offensive guard from Sacramento, California, and 2018 Rivals250 wide receiver Austin Osborne from Mission Viejo, California, having Kizer up will add another recruiter to the mix.

Expected to join Kizer are 2017 commits Hunter Bryant, a four-star tight end from Eastside Catholic HS (Bellevue, Washington) and Connor Wedington, a four-star running back from Sumner HS (Sumner, Washington).

The visit also allows Kizer to connect with his future tight-mate in Bryant. Washington graduates two tight ends - Jeff Lindquist and Darrell Daniels - after this season and having Bryant and Kizer to have a one-for-one swap in numbers continues the scholarship balance.
