2018 3-Star Bishop O'Dowd Safety Jevon Holland Talks Early Recruitment
Fresh off winning his first CIF State Title former Washington-great Napoleon Kaufman is producing more and more FBS level talent at Bishop O'Dowd High School. One prospect to watch is 2018 three-star cornerback Jevon Holland.
The Oakland, California native recently picked up an offer from Boise State while hosting a handful of Pac-12 offers. Holland told Rivals are the Broncos in his top three, along with UCLA and Arizona with a plan moving forward.
"It's a big offer. They are a big-time school with great history," Holland told Rivals of his offer from Boise State. "It was [safeties] Coach [Gabe] Franklin who I've been talking to and the coach [Bryan] Harsin offered me."
Holland got to know the Broncos' head coach during the conversation and the three-star prospect is hoping to visit Boise either this spring or summer. In the mean time he's looking forward to getting to know both BSU coaches more.
"We mostly talked about the love of the game and how it's hard to find that now a days," Holland said of his conversation with Harsin. "That was my first conversation with Coach Harsin, but I've been talking Boise for about two months."
Building off his Pac-12 offers Holland certainly knows the caliber of program Washington is and he's working toward hearing more from UW. Holland knows Trevor King, the younger brother of Kevin King who graduated this season.
At 6'1 and 182, Holland doesn't have a preference where he plays on defense, he just wants to play.
"To be honest with you I don't have a preference," Holland said. "I'll play corner or safety but its the goal to get the ball in my hands."
