Earlier this week 2018 four-star Salt Lake City (Utah) Olympus defensive end Cameron Latu hinted at releasing his top five soon. While the No. 86 overall recruit in the class of 2018 continues to form his list, one school has already made their case well known.

Washington defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe checked-in last week with Latu while the coaching staff was out recruiting. The former Utah State assistant has made strong inroads in the state and Latu could be another product of Malloe's success.

"I talked with Coach Malloe last week in person," Latu told Rivals.com. "Our relationship between me and coach Malloe is great. I really like the fact that he's very family oriented, as is the entire program up at Washington."

With Alabama, USC and several other national programs vying for his services the Huskies have had their work cut out from the beginning. However, with the relationship that Malloe and head coach Chris Petersen have built with the four-star DE, the Huskies are right in the thick of things as he continues to sort through his offers.

"It's top five material for sure," Latu said, when asked where his overall interest in Washington stands heading into the summer.
