Washington hosted 2018 Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Margarita Catholic tight end Jake Peters on Tuesday for an unofficial visit, despite not holding an offer. Nevertheless the unranked right end spoke with Rivals.com to recap his UW trip.

"It went fantastic," Peters told Rivals.com Tuesday afternoon. "I got to meet a bunch of coaches and players. See practice, tour the school, tour the football facilities, hear about the academics, and got to go bowling with Coach Petersen and some of the players."

In addition to striking against the second-year head coach, tight ends coach Jordan Paopao, defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and graduate assistant Aaron Burks talked one-on-one with Peters during his visit.

Paopao broke down what it means to be a tight end, in addition to being a student, at Washington while the other coaches built up their relationship with the sophomore prospect.

"What it takes to be a student athlete at UDub and what he's looking for in a recruit," Peters said of his conversation with Paopao. "I feel I am very versatile as a tight end and I posses the skill set that they are looking for in a tight end. Coach Paopao and I had a good discussion on where I stand [with an offer]."

The Huskies' tight ends coach has built a strong relationship with Peters and having a mixture of brother and coach relationship has help foster a firm foundation.

"It's great," Peters said of their relationship. "I feel like I connect well with him. He's serious yet light hearted. I feel like he's straight forward and you always know where you stand with him."

Pete Kwiatkowski is his area recruiter, and thus when he was on campus the two got a chance to connect.

"He was very positive towards me when we talked after practice," Peters said of Kwiatkowski. "He helped set up my visit and recruits in my area of Southern California. We have a pretty solid relationship. He's very straight forward and energetic."

Following his visit to Montlake, even without an offer, the 2018 tight end has Washington high on his interest list.

"Extremely interested," he said. "It's got all the things I'm looking for in a school and a football program. I would be very honored [if they offered] and thankful. It would be huge."

Peters will take an unofficial visit to Oregon on Wednesday and Oregon State on Thursday. However, more schools are showing interest.

"I'm a sophomore so it's hard to communicate because of the NCAA rules," he said. "But I've had good conversations with UW, Arizona, Arizona State, Northwestern and Michigan. I'm hoping after this trip to hear more from Oregon and Oregon State."
