The top quarterback in the class of 2019 has begun his unofficial visit to Washington, Rivals.com has confirmed. Five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei quarterback JT Daniels will spend both Thursday and Friday on campus as the Huskies shift their focus to filling their quarterback slot for the class.

At 6-foot-1 and 190-pounds the junior-to-be is already one of the best quarterbacks in the class of 2019, if not the top overall recruit at this early stage. The five-star already holds 15 scholarship offers including Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and Washington among others.

UW currently has two quarterback commits for the 2018 class: four-star Bothell (Wash.) pro-style quarterback Jacob Sirmon and four-star Coeur d'Alene (Id.) dual-threat quarterback Colson Yankoff.

The plan for the class is to sign two quarterbacks to bolster the Huskies depth chart following the Jake Browning era. Washington could also lose redshirt junior quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels as a graduate transfer, but that remains only a hypothetical.

Daniels is one of two main quarterback targets for Washington in 2019, along with four-star Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin quarterback Dylan Morris. Only Daniels and Morris hold offers from Washington for quarterbacks in the class with UW in no rush to lock down that scholarship spot.
