Washington was one of the first programs to offer 2019 four-star Oakland (Calif.) Bishop O'Dowd running back Austin Jones. The nations No. 6 RB recruit in next years class has developed a strong interest in the Huskies since and decided it was time to experience UW first hand.

The 5'11, 190-pound Jones is making the trip north to Seattle Saturday when UW hosts rival Oregon. UW head coach Chris Petersen has already signed one four-star recruit from Bishop O'Dowd, linebacker Camilo Eifler in 2016, who could play a role in helping land Jones when all is said and done.

"Visit the campus, and see my old teammate and bro Camilo," Jones said ahead of his trip this weekend on what he hopes to accomplish. "We've just been talking about football and the school in general. It helps a bit [having him at UW), he gives me some insight."

Eifler picked UW over Oregon, along with several other elite programs inside and outside of the Pac-12 conference. Jones too already has an offer from the Ducks, in addition to Arizona, California, Colorado, UCLA, Utah and UW.

With Huskies RB coach Keith Bhonapha making the decision to offer Jones early the two have already grown close, another reason for his visit Saturday.

"It's going really well. He's chill and very relatable," Jones said of his relationship with Bhonapha.
