Huskies to face Indiana

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Washington will face Indiana and Connecticut and Boston College will renew their rivalry in the championship rounds of the 19th annual 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22.

After playing a pair of Regional Round games on campus (against yet to be announced opponents), the four schools will head to New York City.

Washington and Indiana will play in the second game of the night on Thursday, Nov. 21. It will mark the fourth meeting between the two schools -- the first meeting since the 1979 season.

In the first game of the semifinal doubleheader, UConn will face Boston College for the 90th time but the first since January 2005. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. (PT).

Both games will be televised live on ESPN2. The winners will then meet for the 2K Sports Classic championship on Friday, Nov. 22 on ESPN2, preceded by the consolation game at 2:00 p.m. (PT) on ESPNU.

The complete bracket and additional television information for the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project will be announced at a later date.

Washington is 1-2 all-time against the Hoosiers, who were a NCAA Tournament No. 1 seed last year and compiled a 29-7 record. The teams faced each other twice in 1979, with Indiana winning both times. The Huskies' lone win in the series came at the Far West Classic in Portland, Ore., 81-79 on Dec. 29, 1966.

The Huskies will be playing at Madison Square Garden for the fourth and fifth times in a two year span. UW went 0-3 at the fabled arena during the 2012 season. They lost 79-77 to Marquette in the Jimmy V Classic (Dec. 6, 2011), 86-80 vs. Duke (Dec. 10, 2011) in the CARQUEST Auto Parts Classic and 68-67 (ot) against Minnesota (March 27, 2012) in the semifinals of the NIT.
