SEATTLE – Washington has steadily worked senior left tackle Trey Adams back to 100 percent through the first 15 practices of fall camp.

The Huskies offensive lineman missed the final six games of the 2017 season after suffering a right knee injury against Arizona State, a 13-7 defeat in Tempe. Adams, a first-team All-Pac-12 selection as a junior, has been splitting time with the No. 1 OL in practice with a pair of backups, redshirt junior Henry Roberts and redshirt sophomore Luke Wattenberg.

Both players have also shared reps at left guard in camp. The 6-5, 307-pound Wattenberg has been the primary LG with the first-team offense, with either Roberts or Adams to his left.

However, with or without the former Wenatchee High School product starting at LT for the season opener against Auburn, the Huskies are expected to utilize the tight ends to protect senior quarterback Jake Browning.

“For us it’s always been the mentality of taking pride in our work however that shows up in the offensive scheme,” UW TE coach Jordan Paopao said after the first open practice on August 11.

“Whether that’s catching footballs. Whether that’s pass protection. Whether that’s run blocking. Just really taking that inherent sense of pride and really making sure we put our best foot forward.”
