SEATTLE – The Huskies close out their non-conference schedule in 2018 hosting No. 20 BYU Saturday, before heading on the road for back-to-back Pac-12 games at UCLA and Oregon.

Ranked No. 11 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and Coaches Poll this week, Washington enters the matchup a 17.5-point favorite at Husky Stadium. It marks consecutive week that UW has been a two touchdown or better favorite.

Junior linebacker Brandon Wellington was on the field warming up roughly 90 minutes before kickoff. The 6-foot, 222-pound inside backer hasn’t played in 2018 yet for the Huskies, who have been thin across the board at LB dating back to the spring.

UW has used senior Tevis Bartlett in various spots through the first four games. Bartlett and fellow senior Ben-Burr-Kirven have been the two mainstays at LB, with redshirt freshman Ariel Ngata continuing to progress and emerge as one of the more athletic players on defense.

Wellington and DJ Beavers, also a junior, have both been battling injuries that have hampered the depth at LB.

By The Numbers:

*** Senior QB Jake Browning is currently in a three-way tie for No. 8 all-time in Pac-12 history with 85 career passing touchdowns. Browning is three touchdown passes away from tying former USC QB Cody Kessler (88 career TD’s) for the No. 7 spot.

*** Browning is also 150 passing yards’ shy from tying Cody Pickett for the No. 1 all-time school record, and No. 16 all-time in the conference. With that number expected to be matched, and exceeded, against BYU, next up on the list is again, Kessler.

*** Fellow senior, RB Myles Gaskin, is 398 yards’ shy of tying former USC RB Marcus Allen for No. 5 all-time in career rushing yards by a Pac-12 back.

Prediction:

Washington 38, BYU 13.
