Washington was expected to lose a handful of underclassmen to the 2017 NFL Draft and according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, junior wide receiver John Ross has become the first declare early.

The report comes as no surprise given Ross' resurgence in 2016 following a sever knee injury forcing him to miss the 2015 season. Ross led the Huskies in touchdown receptions (17), receiving yards (1, 150) and receptions (81), reminding the Pac-12 Conference of his electric speed.

Ross is expected to be a mid-to-late first round pick in the upcoming draft. CBSSports pegged the Washington receiver to the Dallas Cowboys at No.30 in late October, and has stock has continued to rise since.

The deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is Jan. 16.
