Oregon State became the first program to offer 2018 Seattle (Wash.) Rainier Beach wide receiver Anthony Stell last Friday and several others could be soon to follow. The Beavers have offered as a wide receiver but the speedy athlete can also play cornerback as well.

"It's a blessing to know that coaches believe in me and my ability to help their program win," Stell said of receiving his first offer from the Beavers. "I talked to coach [wide receivers] Coach [Jason] Phillips and he let me know. To be honest I did not see this coming.

"It's kinda blinded me when I first heard the news. I could believe it but he told me that I had worked hard for it."

While Oregon State is the first Pac-12 program to offer the rising 2018 prospect they aren't the only school who has shown interest. Washington State and Central Michigan have also shown high interest while near by Washington has sent a decent amount of letters.

Stell is planning on attending the Cougars junior day and if an offer from WSU came it could be hard to beat.

"It would be huge," Stell said of a possible WSU offer. "They would be pretty high up there, but as of right now I can't predict where I would up them until I get the offer."

As a junior Stell recorded eight touchdowns and 360 yards in eight games for Rainier Beach HS. While he can play cornerback most colleges are attracted by his 4.40 40-yard speed as a wide receiver.

"I'm more comfortable on offense but definitely would be more comfortable on defense if I train on it as much as I do wide receiver," Stell said. "My speed of course is a strength and my feet off the line is a big part. Also my way of feeling defenders when I'm sitting in tight windows."
