PASADENA, Calif. – Despite having two senior bookend tackles, Trey Adams and Kaleb McGary, the Huskies used at least 10 offensive linemen this season as a result of various injuries.

Five of those trench Dawgs spoke with TheDawgReport.com on Sunday during UW media day at the Rose Bowl Stadium.

Starting left guard Luke Wattenberg, senior Jesse Sosebee, junior left tackle Jared Hilbers, redshirt freshman Henry Bainivalu and junior tackle / guard Henry Roberts shared their first memory of “The Granddaddy of Them All”, what makes Ohio State tick on defense and more.

TDR: On describing the dynamic of the OL room...

Sosebee: “We all prepare like we’re going to play and we really don’t take reps off in practice. We make sure that everything we do is up to the standard.”

Hilbers: “Yeah you just have to, like he said, prepare to play. Coaches will play who they think is the best five.”

Roberts: “For me it’s more like try to have fun every day. No matter what happens just have fun.”

Bainivalu: “Yeah I definitely agree with what’s been said. I just feel like the best five that should be out there should be out there. If I’m not one of those guys, then it’s okay. But I’m always going to prepare like I want to be one of those guys.”

Wattenberg: “You never know who’s going to get hurt and you never know when it’s going to be your chance to start that game or whatever.”

TDR: On describing senior quarterback Jake Browning...

Sosebee:“One of the best quarterbacks in Pac-12 history.”

Hilbers: “I’m glad to have him as my quarterback because he knows what he’s doing. He’s pretty good at what he does.”

Roberts: “He’s the center-stone of our ark.”
