Matchup: No. 20 Washington Huskies (15-5, 7-2) at Oregon State Beavers (8-12, 3-6)

Series: The Huskies lead the series 153-136, including eight victories in a row over the Beavers. Oregon State coach Craig Robinson is 0-6 all-time against the Huskies. The Huskies defeated the Beavers earlier this season 103-72 despite a slow start.

About the Huskies: At the midpoint of Pac-10 play, the Huskies are 7-2 and tied for the conference lead with Arizona. Washington is coming off a tough-to-swallow 87-80 loss at Washington State. Oregon State was able to cause some problems for the Huskies in the last matchup with their unique 1-3-1 trapping zone defense, but UW made some adjustments and ended up turning the game into a blowout at home. Matthew Bryan-Amaning had 24 points and 15 rebounds in the last matchup, and Isaiah Thomas scored 19 points to go along with eight assists. The Huskies need to avoid having another flat performance on the road, and struggling Oregon State should be just what the Huskies need to recover from a conference loss.

About the Beavers: After a surprising 2-0 start in conference play that included a win against first-place Arizona, Oregon State has dropped six of its past seven games, all to Pac-10 opponents. Oregon State leads the Pac-10 in steals per game, averaging an impressive 10.3 per contest. Jared Cunningham (13.7ppg) leads the team in scoring. He scored 21 points in the last game against the Huskies. Reserve Roberto Nelson also had a big impact in the team's loss to the Huskies with 15 points off the bench. If the Beavers want to pull off the upset at home, they need to take advantage of the size differential in the backcourt and force the Huskies to turn the ball over like they did against the Cougars (23 times). The Beavers also need to be able to play at a high level for the entire game, unlike the last matchup against the Huskies when they were outscored in the second half by 30 in a game they lost by 31 points.
