Washington offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jonathan Smith was in California to check on 2017 three-star Newport Beach (Calif.) Corona Del Mar quarterback Chase Garbers this week.

"We just talked about the 2017 class is going to be insane and how he wants me leading the charge," Garbers told Rivals.com on Friday. "An already established class is going to be good but if I went to UDub It'd already build on the class."

2017 four-star Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco wide receiver, a current Washington commit, has been pushing hard for Garbers as of late. And the idea of playing together at UW is something that appeals to the three-star prospect.

"Terrell Bynum is the biggest one - he's just been saying how it'd be the best class and let's go win a Rose Bowl," Garbers said. "I'm feel pretty good [about Washington]. We'll see how it all shakes down in a couple weeks when I start to narrow things down."

Garbers is considering visits to Texas A&M and USC, both schools that have yet to offer but have been showing increasing interest. Colorado, Ole Miss, San Diego State and Utah have also not offered but expressed interest.
