Washington is expected to enroll two players into the football program in January, with another two more enrolling in March in time to participate in spring practices, Rivals has learned.

Jacob Kizer, a tight end who signed with Washington as a member of its 2016 recruiting class but used a grey shirt this fall, will enroll as planned in January along with Joel Whitford, a punter from Santa Barbra Community College who committed in June.

The latter two are expected to come from the Huskies 2017 recruiting class. Four-star defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu already confirmed with Rivals his intention to enroll in the spring, with 2017 three-star wide receiver commit Ty Jones being the second.

Based off the amount of graduating seniors the early enrollees align near perfect with the players they are replacing on scholarship. UW is losing Darrell Daniels and Jeff Linquist at tight end, with Kizer coming in to fill that void along with four-star commit Hunter Bryant in the fall.

Tuipulotu would replace the scholarship vacated by senior defensive end Damion Turpin, while Jones would not replace a specific graduating senior but more so just adding another receiver into the mix. Most expect junior wide receiver John Ross to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2017 NFL Draft, thus opening a spot for Jones in March.

Washington also had one extra scholarship heading into the season, even with the enrollment of former Oklahoma wide receiver K.J. Young before fall camp. All indications appear that scholarship is still open and usable for the 2017 recruiting class, with numbers getting tighter with each commitment.
