SEATTLE – Before the start of the season Washington was viewed as having a plethora of elite, up and coming talent on both sides of the football.

Against Eastern Washington in week one true freshman wide receiver Puka Nacua appeared in 10 plays, though he was never targeted. Nacua appeared only twice against California this past Saturday in the Huskies 20-19 defeat at home.

On defense, eight true freshmen have seen the field for UW through the first two games. The number of combined redshirt and true freshmen is slightly more than double with 17 first or second year Husky defenders recording a minimum of one snap so far in 2019.
