2018 four-star Wilsonville (Ore.) defensive end Draco Bynum has committed to Washington during an unofficial visit Saturday, a source told Rivals.com. UW now holds eight verbal commitments for the class of 2018 with Bynum now the sixth four-star recruit in the Huskies class.

Bynum visited Washington on April 8 and received his offer then from head coach Chris Petersen and defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe. Immediately following the trip the Huskies became one of three schools standing out to the four-star recruit, along with Nebraska and USC - both programs offered Bynum a scholarship.

The commitment gives Petersen another top recruit from the state of Oregon, joining 2017 four-star cornerback Elijah Molden from West Linn High School (West Linn, Oregon) and three-star OT Jaxson Kirkland out of Jesuit High School (Portland, Oregon).

In 2014, UW signed three-star Beaverton HS (Beaverton, Oregon) OT Jared Hilbers was the lone recruit from Oregon. The Huskies also signed three-star West Salem HS (Salem, Oregon) TE Jacob Kizer in 2016, who enrolled in January after grey shirting in the fall.

With Bynum in the fold the Huskies 2018 class now ranks No.8 according to Rivals rankings, with the Huskies showing no sign of slowing their momentum on the recruiting trail after a dominant 12-2 season in 2016.

Bynum bought in early to the Built For Life program under Petersen well before his recent offer. Following his visit earlier this month the four-star recruit raved about the quality of the program from top to bottom.

"Udub is an amazing school, and it means a lot to have that offer," Bynum told Rivals. "I respect coach Pete so much and I love the school. It's definitely been a top school for me for a while."
