Less than one month after Sir Mells announced his second scholarship offer from the University of Washington the rising junior has made his decision.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman out of Liberty High School (Las Vegas, Nevada) made his commitment to UW official Saturday morning, becoming the second prospect from the state to choose the Huskies joining his teammate, four-star wide receiver Germie Bernard.

Mells held two other scholarship offers, from UNLV and Fresno State, while also receiving interest from several other Pac-12 schools. When he announced his offer from the Huskies on November 16, it was rather clear he would end up in Purple and Gold.

“I’m beyond blessed to receive an offer on Thanksgiving from my future Dline coach the great @MalloeMalloe (Ikaika Malloe) from THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON,” Mells wrote in a tweet last month.

UW also holds a commitment from three-star Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln tight end Chance Bogan, in addition to the pair of pledges from Liberty HS.
