Ex-Michigan Recruiting Coordinator Hired as UW Director of Player Personnel

UW has hired former Michigan recruiting coordinator Cooper Petagna, a former recruiting specialist under Alabama head coach Nick Saban during the Tide's 2014 College Football Playoff run.

The LSU graduate and former assistant director of player personnel for Les Miles in 2015 assumes the role of Director of Player Personnel for the Huskies football program. Petagna replaces Aaron Knotts, who now holds the title of Chief of Staff at UW with Chief Administrative Officer Rich Rassmussen no longer with the program, a source with knowledge of the process told Rivals on Monday.

After graduating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2014, Petagna spent his first season in coaching as a football recruiting specialist in Tuscaloosa during the Tide's first CFP run.

He returned to the Bayou the following season before serving as Assistant Director of Recruiting and NFL Liaison for the University of Cincinnati, according to his bio from MGoBlue.com.

In other Huskies coaching news former graduate assistant Terrance Brown, a 2013 graduate of Stanford University who has served under Chris Petersen from 2015-17), has taken a full-time position at Vanderbilt University as the Commodores cornerbacks coach.
