Washington has kept another coveted Evergreen State prospect home in the 2021 recruiting class Thursday evening.
Owen Prentice, a three-star interior offensive lineman out of O’Dea High School (Seattle, Wash.), announced his decision to stay home and play for Jimmy Lake at UW. Prentice is the fourteenth verbal commitment for UW in this years’ class and the second offensive lineman.
The Huskies are expected to be done up front with the addition of Prentice. UW offensive line coach Scott Huff held off two strong contenders, LSU and Stanford, to secure the coveted in-state recruit.
With Prentice in the fold UW has moved up to No. 22 in the team rankings for this years’ class, behind Oregon (No. 3) and USC (No. 5) in the Pac-12 Conference. The significance of keeping Prentice cannot be overrated for Huff and the UW coaching staff as their focus now shifts to a loaded class of 2022.
Five of the six UW offensive line offers that have already gone out to recruits in next years’ class are to players from the Evergreen State; four-star Puyallup (Wash.) guard Dave Iuli, four-star Rainier Beach (Wash.) offensive tackle Josh Conerly, Graham (Wash.) Graham-Kapowsin offensive tackle Vega Ionae, Federal Way (Wash.) Todd Beamer offensive tackle Malik Agbo and O’Dea (Wash.) lineman Mark Nabou.
