Washington has continued to remain a strong fixture in the recruitment of Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland standout defensive lineman Omar Khan. The 6-foot-5 prospect picked up an offer from the Huskies back in March as UW became one of the first programs to become involved.
Since then he's added offers from programs such as TCU, Baylor, USC and Utah among others.
Monday, after an official visit to UW, Khan made the call in favor of the Huskies by announcing his commitment.
Khan visited with the Huskies, unofficially, in April, so his trip back to Seattle over the weekend was just his latest opportunity to build his relationship with the Kalen DeBoer's staff.
The Texas-based recruit also took an official visit to Arizona earlier in the month as well. Cal was another program strongly in the mix for Khan's commitment.
His decision helps the Huskies build on the momentum they have built in recent days with Khan becoming the fourth commitment since Saturday.
In all, Washington now has five commitments in the class led by four-star receiver Jason Robinson, who committed Saturday, and four-star offensive tackle Paki Finau. Tight end Decker DeGraaf and wide receiver Justice Williams, who both committed over the weekend, round out the early 2024 group for UW.
Khan is the first commitment in the class from outside California for the Huskies. Arizona State, Boise State, Kansas, Maryland, Houston, SMU, and Vanderbilt are some of the other schools that offered the new UW commit.
