Following an official visit on Saturday the Huskies landed their second four-star hoops commitment under head coach Mike Hopkins, just a little more than three months on the job.

Four-star small forward Hameir Wright, the No. 72 overall recruit in the class of 2018 per Rivals' rankings, announced his commitment on Twitter with a potential bonus.

Shortly after Wright's announcement, ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello reported that the four-star recruit will reclassify and become a part of the Huskies 2017 class. That means the Rivals100 prospect will be able to play for Hopkins in the upcoming 2017-18 season, giving the first-year coach another key piece to accelerate the rebuild.

Wright joins four-star shooting guard Jaylen Nowell (Garfield High School/Seattle, Washington) and three-star SG Nahziah Carter (Bishop Kearney HS/Rochester, New York) as the three commits for the class of 2017.

Landing Wright also earns Hopkins another significant recruiting victory, beating out Syracuse, Michigan State and Maryland among other schools for his commitment.

With the firing of former coach Lorenzo Romar sparking the implosion of the Huskies incoming class, Hopkins and his staff have had to make up ground after being hired in late March.
