The Rivals250 two-way prospect visited UW back in early May for his second trip to Seattle. Following the visit Vakalahi named Washington his leader, with the expectation still for the four-star DT planning on making a few other trips before trimming his list.

"He just talked about the program and asked me how I felt about the whole thing," Vakalahi said of his conversation with UW head coach Chris Petersen during his visit. "It just made me feel like it as home. No, not really one thing in particular, just everything he was saying really hit home."

Vakalahi, a 6-foot-2, 296-pound lineman, trimmed his list of 18 offers down to seven: Alabama, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah and Washington. The expectation is the four-star recruit will make a couple official visits this fall before making a decision.
