SNOHOMISH, Wash. – Snohomish (Wash.) High School senior Jon Brockman, who Rivals.com has ranked No. 31 overall nationally for the Class of 2005 and No. 7 among power forwards, will announce his college choice at a press conference on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in his high school gymnasium.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Brockman, whose brother Paul Brockman will play at Seattle Pacific University this winter, is expected to choose the University of Washington over Duke, according to various news sources.
An official in the Snohomish High School athletic department confirmed the Tuesday press conference.
“He just wants to get it over with,” the official said of Brockman naming his college choice after narrowing it to UW and Duke recently.
Brockman wouldn’t be able to make the commitment official until the national letter of intent signing period from Nov. 10-17.
“It's a big day for Snohomish,” Snohomish coach Len Bone said of Brockman's announcement. “We don't do this kind of thing very often. The school and the community are both excited.
“He's a special part of this area.”
Brockman’s older sister, Kirsten, was a standout at Snohomish High before playing at UW. She ended her career abruptly last season because of a run of recurring injuries.
Brockman, a fearless and relentless presence under the hoop, averaged 22.4 points for the Panthers in 2003-04 and led them in rebounding with 13 per game. He was an all-state selection as a junior and he enters his fourth year as a starter for Snohomish.
“Jon has a lot of passion for the game,” Bone said of Brockman for a Rivals.com profile. “He plays the game hard. Jon is a great rebounder and is very tough, both physically and mentally. He’s very mature and handles pressure well. We want him to get the ball during crunch time.”
Brockman is already Snohomish's all-time leading scorer and rebounder.
“He's still got a year to go,” Bone said. “He'll be adding to those records. He has seven or eight school records. I've never had anybody of his caliber as an athlete.
“He's a real special young man, because of his character and selflessness. He's humble and he's a great teammate.”
Almost every NCAA Division I school wanted Brockman, according to Bone.
“He was recruited by everybody,” Bone said. “Everyone wrote him, at least. And, it hasn't gone to his head. It's been a privilege to coach Jon.”
Seattle Prep senior Martell Webster could round out one of the best recruiting classes ever for the Huskies as coach Lorenzo Romar raids the local area for talent. The Class of 2005 features arguably the Seattle area’s best-ever talent.
Attempts to reach Webster over the weekend were unsuccessful. Rivals.com ranks the smooth 6-foot-7 player the No. 6 overall prospect in the Class of 2005 and the No. 3 shooting guard in the nation.
Brockman would be the fifth player to verbally commit to UW during the fall recruiting period. Already headed to the Huskies are forward Artem Wallace (Toledo, Wash.), point guard Justin Dentmon (Carbondale, Ill.), Harvey Perry (Henderson, Nev.) and Roburt Sallie (Sacramento, Calif.).
