Embracing a physical brand of football

Last Saturday's win against Oregon State was a physical, aggressive game. Despite being called soft, the Washington defense seemed to enjoy playing this kind of football.
That assessment isn't very off-base, apparently.

After Tuesday's practice, linebacker John Timu responded to the idea that the team likes playing in aggressive games.
"That's us," Timu said. "Our brand is a physical brand. We got to bring it every week. We kind of missed that the past three weeks that we lost, (then we brought it to the Oregon State game)."
So, what will it take for Washington to carry over their physicality to California?
"Being physical in practice against our own offense," Timu said. "Just being physical every snap so on game day it will be easy."
That's the kind of energy the Huskies want to bring right away to games. This Friday, it will be especially important to bring their aggressive energy because they are on the road, and that has been an obvious struggle for them so far this season.
