After announcing his decision to leave the University of Washington on Nov. 21, cornerback Darren Gardenhire will transfer to Montana State University and rejoin former teammate Naijiel Hale under head coach Jeff Choate, who spent two years as an assistant at Washington with Gardenhire.

Gardenhire also reunites with Gerald Alexander, who served as a graduate assistant at Washington in 2014 before moving onto Indiana State and eventually MSU to coach the Bobcats' secondary.
