Shelton, selected No.12 overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft, has played a vital symbolic role in the Huskies recruiting efforts under Chris Petersen. Several recruits and notable current players including nose tackle Vita Vea, an expected first-round pick in 2018, have mentioned wanting to be the next "Danny Shelton" at UW.

At 6-foot-2 and 295 pounds the nations No. 133 overall recruit almost perfectly mirrors Shelton in size coming out of high school, and the Huskies are seeking their next dominant defensive lineman to replace Vea in the future.

Washington will go against USC, UCLA and several others this Sunday for Letuligasenoa'a verbal commitment, with his recruitment expected to continue despite the early decision.
