Late in the last recruiting cycle, just before Signing Day, Washington made a strong push for a few prospects from the state of Georgia.
Among them were Reuben Foster, Maurice Swain and Joe Sanders.
It doesn't look like the Huskies are done in the Peach State. They recently offered Stanton Truitt, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete from Monroe (Ga.).
"I had been talking to them for a while," Truitt told UDUBNation.com. "I've been talking to coach [Justin] Wilcox for a while. I talk to them on just about a daily basis."
Before you immediately dismiss the Huskies as a contender because of the distance from Monroe (Ga.) to Seattle, and the SEC schools trying to convince him to stay close to home, it's worth noting that he has already been to UW.
"I went up there for their junior day and I really liked it," he said. "I had been up there before with my step brother Myles Jack, just to get a feel for it. I've been up there so many times. I have a good feel for the place."
Wilcox informed Truitt that the staff had watched his film together and everyone was excited about what he brings to the table.
"He said the head coach wanted to talk to me," he said. "I got to talk to coach [Steve] Sarkisian a little bit at the junior day. He was mainly talking to me about the reconstruction of everything's that's going on. We had a conversation about that."
Truitt is competing in track right now and after that season is over he plans to visit more schools.
He told UDUBNation.com that he has an open mind about the process.
Arizona State, Boston College, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest and West Virginia are among the other schools that have offered Truitt.
