Washington has not been on College GameDay under coach Chris Petersen, but that soon could change. Next weekend the Huskies travel to face Utah in Rice-Eccles Stadium, where the ESPN college football staple show has not gone this season.

An ESPN spokesperson told Rivals that the Washington vs Utah matchup is one of three locations the network is deciding between for College GameDay's location. The spokesperson added that it would prefer both UW and Utah win their games against Oregon State and UCLA respectively.

"More than likely not," the spokesperson said, when asked if Utah loses would their chances still be high to host GameDay. "But it depends on how other games play out."

If the Utes indeed receive the honor of hosting ESPN College GameDay, it would mark the fourth time Washington has played a team hosting, with the Huskies hosting GameDay just once.

Looking at the schedule for next weekend it would be fair to assume the Florida State vs Clemson game in Tallahassee, Florida, and then a second matchup. Utah did host GameDay in 2015, have appeared willing to foot the bill again with a top-5 Washington team coming in.

Washington is winless in its four GameDay appearances with the last coming on Oct. 12, 2013, a 45-24 loss to Oregon at home. Last season the Utes hosted Cal on Oct. 10 for GameDay, with Utah coming out victorious 30-24.
