Washington is one of 21 schools to already show interest in former Rivals150 defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko, who received received his transfer release from Texas Tech.

Fehoko told Rivals on Thursday that Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, UCF, Virginia, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin have all shown interest since getting his release last Wednesday.

"I'm just really looking at which school is going to provide the best fit for me," Fehoko said of his plan of action as more schools show interest.

Washington was one of the finalist back in 2015 before Fehoko selected Texas Tech as a four-star prospect out of Farrington High School (Honolulu, Hawaii). Fehoko was the No.122 overall prospect in the 2015 class per Rivals' rankings and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Hawaii behind Canton Kaumatule, a defensive end who signed with Oregon.

Previously Fehoko has stated that his brother was classmates with former Washington left tackle Micah Hatchie, along with having other connections to UW alumni. During his recruitment running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Keith Bhonapha and defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski built a strong relationship with Fehoko, both of whom are still on staff at UW.

Fehoko played in 20 games in two seasons at Texas Tech recording 38 total tackles, two sacks and one interception. He will have to redshirt and sit out one season per NCAA transfer rules and have two years of eligibility remaining once he is eligible.

Multiple sources told Rivals that Washington will do its due diligence and evaluate the possibility of adding Fehoko. But with limited scholarships the Huskies will have to evaluate the risk-reward that Fehoko brings to the table.
