Washington defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake will remain at UW after turning down an offer from Cal, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation told Rivals.
Earlier in the week there were some around Lake that felt he was set to announce his move to California, potentially as early as Thursday or Friday. However, the Huskies' assistant elected to remain under head coach Chris Petersen.
Lake received a significant raise in base salary to $500,000 for the 2015 season, up from $390,000. As one of several assistants to receive a contract extension following last season Lake has become one of the more coveted assistants with potential for an FBS head coaching job.
