Washington dipped back into familiar territory for head coach Jedd Fisch and his staff for the program's latest commitment Friday. High three-star defensive back Rylon "Batman" Dillard-Allen is headed to the Huskies after announcing his pledge to UW over a final group that included UCLA, Texas A&M and Alabama.
The 6-foot safety from Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix was previously committed to Arizona State briefly in the spring before backing off that pledge to take more visits.
The Huskies hosted him last among the string of visits in June while the Bruins and Crimson Tide were also able to get him on an official visit after he decommitted from the in-state Sun Devils.
Member's of Fisch's staff, including cornerbacks coach John Richardson, was among the first to show interest in the Chicago native back when several of the coaches were at Arizona. That connection helped create a bond between Dillard-Allen and the Huskies.
He cited that longstanding relationship in his announcement during a ceremony at his school Friday.
"They showed me love, so I want to show them love, too."
Dillard-Allen is now the 23rd commitment in the 2025 class for the Huskies pushing UW into the top 20 of Rivals' team recruiting rankings. Washington now has the No. 7-ranked class among all teams in the Big Ten and is at No. 18 overall for 2025.
The Huskies now hold commitments from five defensive backs in the class highlighted by four-star cornerback Dylan Robinson, who gave UW his pledge just last week.
Oregon, USC and Nebraska were a few of the other schools that pursued Dillard-Allen during the process.
